The next area I wanna talk about is our Mental health. This is an area a lot of people don't like talking about because people don't like the subject of crazy people, psychopaths and hearing voices in your head. That is the very reason this subject needs to be talked about so people that are dealing with this issue can seek the help they need and how God views mental illness.
Before we go further into this subject I would like to say one thing. just because we love God doesn't mean that we struggle in our mind and we cant hear voices, both believers and unbelievers suffer from this and can destroy a person if it is not fixed or healed, so with moving forward in this I'm going to put in a couple of examples of how a person can develop a mental illness and how it can impact them.

1.) Past Trauma
Has anyone heard the saying "Let Go and Let God" I am sure we all have heard it, and to be honest for some people it just isn't easy to do and even some of us has earnestly forgave the person that did us wrong but the event of what happen still lingers because it had a powerful negative impact on our mind.
The number one way the enemy deals a devastating blow to our minds is by past trauma. Past trauma is an event in our lives that we hold onto that has impacted us in a negative or very bad way that it lingers on our mind even when we are trying to move forward to the future. This is also known as a stronghold that the devil has placed because that negative event comes back into your mind even when you don't wanna think about it.
The root to past trauma usually starts when we are children but not always it can also happen with adults, and the truth is that past trauma usually is involved with people we are closest too like our mom, dad, significant other or even a friend, and can also be a event, Like a soldier being brought back from war but the damage done on the battlefield still lingers in his or her mind.
So then the next question is how do we fight back against past trauma? but first lets tackle the some of the other categories that fit into past trauma which is new where we talk about the second part "Rejection."
2.) Rejection
This next part is one of the ones that i struggle with today and has impacted me a lot since i was young.
Rejections comes in many forms but impacts people the same way "it hurts" and it messes people up depending on how close you are to someone. When you have a stranger reject you it doesn't hurt so much, but when you have someone you like or even a family member reject you it destroys he was rejected by Peter and then on top of that he was abandon by his disciples during his hour of hurt and pain and even worse continually being rejected by his very own creation and not even being acknowledged for his very existence by a God hating generation. I'm sure this hurts him because all he wants is for mankind to be saved and experience an amazing relationship with him.

That's why Jesus understands what we go through because he went through it too, it says in Hebrews 4:14-16 that we do not have a high priest(Jesus) who cannot empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way yet he did not sin. So let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive grace to help us during our time of need. Rejection makes us want to seclude ourselves and not interact with people much anymore because of how much it hurts, friend I wanna tell you this don't do this, having time to yourself isn't bad we all need time to relax and think things over, but when you don't interact with people anymore and choose to shut everyone else out, that's a opportunity for the devil to attack your mind and even lead you to a road of bitterness and hate.
God designed us humans to love and be loved because God loves us, for example God said in Genesis 2:18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him… Although this is a reference to a woman being a man's helpmate and being a part of him, it also describes that it is not good for the man to be alone. God gave Jonathan to David as his best friend and God even gave Jesus his disciples to be there with him and that means God has someone for you also whether it be your future spouse, a best friend or even just someone to talk too GOD DOES NOT WANT YOU TO FEEL ALONE!!!!
There is gonna be times in your life where your gonna feel alone especially during those times of hurt. But just know that God wants to fill you with himself and spend time with you during your time of hurt and pain. God want's you to know that you are loved by him despite the hurt or broken situation that you are enduring. God will not abandon you during your time of need, God is not like man where he will leave you as if you were an orphan.

Next one is gonna be a tricky one because this one is not talked about as much as the others.

3.) Believing Lies
Next one is gonna be a tricky one because this one is not talked about as much as the others.
Ever wonder how strongholds are established in the mind? Have you ever questioned yourself and asked why are there so many unnecessary things that go into my mind. Well its because there was an outside or inside source that attacks your mind and is trying to get into your heart
5.) Fear
A big part of Mental illness is fear, fear comes in many forms but is rooted in one thing and that is Judgement, 1 John 4:18 says that fear has no love and perfect love cast out fear, because fear comes from judgement and that the one who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Fear comes in many forms for example there are a lot of people suffering from different kinds of phobias in this world as we know like arachnophobia or homophobia, but what if there is fear's deeper than the normal fears like this YouTuber called The Infographic Show explains in his video called Weirdest Phobias People Suffer From, that talks about many uncommon fears that people would find stupid and unreasonable, but truth be told many people suffer from these conditions and dont know how to be healed from this, so we cant look down on these people but to pray for them because they have developed a stronghold in their minds just like 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says about false arguments and Imaginations that rises itself up against the knowledge of God.
As you watch the video you see that most of their fears have come from judgement from what they believe in and how they think that these things can either harm or kill them, this is Mental Illness at its finest, people usually picture mental illness as a person with a stray jacket moving back and forth, or a crazy person talking to themselves all the time as if they were talking to a spirit or somethings. or even doing things like what a man becoming a cow and eating grass like what happen in Daniel 4 concerning King Nebuchadnezzar. But what happens before that turns people into these conditions? Now we know that King Nebuchadnezzar went crazy and lived among-st the animals because the Lord has struck him for giving himself glory and not God, but what about the other people what caused them to become insane or even be afraid of cheese or even young people. All this this began at a early time of their lives and formed due to rejection and hurt, because people know more about hurt then we do love, we dwell on the bad things that happen to us and even accepting the new bad things in life saying things like, "well this is just another normal circumstance in my life, Im just gonna roll with it and accept it". This mindset is what causes the root of Mental illness, its the accepting the hurt and letting it run our lives that causes us to shrink back, hold grudges, and even live a life of misery and hang out with miserable people to make ourselves feel better about ourselves.
Judgments can be everyday things we say in our minds that turn into fear and then in turns comes out when we speak, like for example the disciples thought they were gonna die when they were out in the lake when a storm hit them and the Lord Jesus was sleeping. and because they thought they were gonna die they panicked and acted out on anxiety and fear to try and solve their issue, then seeing that they cant do anything they woke Jesus up and with waking him up the Lord not only rebuked the wind and the wave and stopped it but also rebuked his disciples for their lack of faith.
There have also been another example in Galatians 2:11 where Peter was rebuked by Paul because of his hypocrisy, Peter was scared of criticism(judgement) from both the gentile believers and the Jewish believers because he ate with the gentiles first then was scared about what the Jewish believers would say when they had come around, Jesus told his people not to worry about food and clothing for he feeds the birds of the air and clothes the flowers of the field, when people dont have anything to eat they usually make a judgement that usually sounds like this, what am i going to eat, where am I gonna get it from, and how am i gonna get the money to get something to eat. or where am i gonna get clothes for the winter for me and my children. These questions are usually the root of when fear is established because the Word says that fear comes from judgement. Fear's job is to remove faith and fill the person with doubts, fear is a result from not taking God at his word and when a person dwells on it, it becomes a lot worse because fears job is to remove faith. God says that he didn't give us a spirit of timidness(weakness, fear, anxiety, doubt), but of power(strength), love(compassion and meekness) and a sound mind(peace, assurance that things are gonna be ok) to those who struggle with fear like I do ask yourselves is thinking about every situation in life gonna help you live a life full of faith in a all knowing God who knows your life from beginning to end. If we know we need Gods help with every part of our life, then we have to learn and admit that we dont know everything and that as Jesus said "worrying about it wont add a extra moment to our life." My friend, I know its hard because we want to figure everything out and not knowing what is gonna happen next puts worry in our hearts. but just relax and meditate on what God said, let God's word be the root of your life so you can be grounded in faith, truth, love and hope. dont accept the bad circumstances in your life, start thinking positive, dont yoke with miserable people, cause even if its their intention or not, the word says bad company corrupts good character, yoking with them will only make you miserable and drag you into mental illness. Choose faith over fear and start living your life in the security and assurance that God is a God who is for you and not against you, neither angels or demons, trails or tribulations, neither beast of the field or eagles in the sky or people can keep you away from the Love of God. Focusing on God and what he says concerning you and apologizing to him for accepting the lies of people and the devil can help you start moving forward because this is when God starts working on your heart is when we admit to things, God wants us to be honest with him and not hold anything back, after his resurecction Jesus meet with 2 of his disciples and asked him what was wrong, despite Jesus knowing what happen, he still asked his disciples what happen because they were grieving and wanted to be a listening ear to them so they can be healed from their hurt and their pain. So if you been hurt by a stranger, a family or a friend, whatever the case may be for example if you have been raped and your still holding offense in your heart, say God i admit that im still holding onto what the rapist has done to me and its hurts really badly. my heart still hurts from that situation and i want to forgive them because you said that you forgave me of my sins so i should forgive those who sinned against me. Please work on my heart and help me to forgive. Its gonna be hard to bring the situation up again but it will be a step towards your freedom from any resentment and bitterness in your heart
Storms in our life come and go but its how we deal with it that matters, there are some people that tremble and give in to fear and doubt but there are also people who are full of faith and holds their ground when pressure comes their way. for those who are the people that have given into and fear and worry, dont condemn yourself we all make mistakes, just say to yourself that next time im gonna do better and have faith in God that he is gonna pull me through this. be encouraged and have faith God has your best interest at heart and has an amazing plan for your life stop trying to figure everything out and let an all knowing God fix the situation for you, All things work together for the good of those that love God and are called according to his purpose.

6.) God loves you, don't suffer in Silence
This is why it is important to understand what God says who we are in his eyes and not what the world says. the world can never be pleased because the flesh can never be pleased that's why we gotta have boundaries when it comes too people places and things. When you understand how God see's you, according to his word you will have a boldness and a confidence about you and all the things people say about you wont impact you as much as they did before.
You matter and God loves you, God gave you a voice so start expressing how you feel people need to hear the truth and if you have the power to tell them the truth then do it. There is times that you need to just let it go because God is the one who fights your battles, but there is also times where you have to speak up and not let people run over you, When you have done everything you can to stand up for yourself and they continue to do it then you have to let God deal with them, make sure to pray for them, continue showing the Love of God and keep being the amazing person that you are and push forward. YOU AINT WRONG FOR EXPRESSING YOURSELF, ITS JUST THE WAY YOU DO IT THAT MAKES IT WRONG OR RIGHT.
Jesus himself spoke when the pharisees was trying to set him up for a trap, He saw right through them and spoke up and exposed them for what they were trying to do to him like when the pharisees was trying to trick him about taxes and money to Ceaser. You see Jesus wasn't wrong for exposing them because it was the truth and we know that Jesus never sinned so we are ok when it comes to telling people off sometimes, but do it in a respectful way, don't degrade that person because we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities in wicked places, and also God loves that person and wants to see that person saved because Jesus died for the world.
before I end this I would like to encourage you to not be silent if you are suffering from any form of mental illness, your life matters and God wants to heal you from this, he wants you to seek the help that you need to get better. talk to a counselor, talk to a doctor and most importantly talk to God about how you feel and open your heart to him, he hears you even when you don't speak but he wants to hear what you have to say because he Loves you, so don't be silent anymore speak up and be heard.
